Braces for children, adolescents and adults

We offer the entire spectrum of modern orthodontics with visible, invisible, fixed and removable braces at our disposal.

Beautiful teeth and optimal tooth position are not always given by nature. The large variation in tooth and jaw shapes, affects individual appearance.

Not every deviation needs to be changed. However, there are often misaligned teeth and jaws that can lead to functional disorders.

Orthodontic clarification and treatment begin with early detection and timely correction in children and adolescents, but also with the detection of malocclusion in adults.

  • Fixed braces

  • Removable braces

  • Invisible braces

  • Assessments and second opinions in the case of misaligned teeth

Time of treatment

In principle, a consultation should be made between the ages of 7 and 10 years. Orthodontic treatments, which aim to influence the development of the jaw and teeth in the desired functional and aesthetic direction, usually take place between the ages of 9 and 14 years. Timely treatment can mean that laborious measures can be avoided later.

Preparation of documents for treatment planning

The planning of the treatment requires an extremely precise and well thought-out concept. For this we need photographs of the face, x-rays and digital models for precise analysis.

With these documents, the course of treatment and the exact cost estimate are discussed and recorded in writing.

1.

Clarifying advice from the orthodontist

An initial assessment is made and wishes and needs are discussed with everyone involved. The possible options, the approximate duration of treatment and the budget are discussed.

Treatment

The treatment, which sometimes takes several years and requires a lot of discipline, is a challenge for us and our patients that we will tackle together. In the case of children and teens, we accompany them at regular intervals on their way to adulthood. We experience and experience the complex changes in this very important phase of life intensively.

The passive holding phase (retention) that follows after the active treatment is to maintain the corrected jaw and tooth position.

Adults

Healthy teeth in a healthy teeth-supporting apparatus can be moved the same way as with younger patients.

Intraoralscanner Albispraxis

intraoral scanner

For the exact planning of the treatment process, the dentition and the jaws must be represented precisely. The intraoral scanner allows a quick, comfortable and extremely precise digital recording. The previously common and unpleasant methods of taking impressions are avoided.

Invisible braces - Invisalign

If we opt for an “invisible brace” (= aligner), the custom-made splints are changed at regular intervals. The teeth move little by little to the intended position.

From time to time we will see you for a check-up appointment to see the progress of the treatment and to make sure that the treatment is comfortable for you.

Treatment costs

The costs depend on the complexity of the misalignment and the desired aesthetic result.

Get advice on supplementary insurance for your children at pre-school age.

A reliable cost estimate can usually be made at an initial consultation..

The individual treatment phases are billed and shown in detail step by step.

Certain municipalities contribute to the cost of orthodontic treatment depending on the parents' income.

In serious cases, the Swiss disability insurance (IV) may cover the treatment costs. Registration must be carried out by a specialist dentist for orthodontics.
